Really, the programs like a damn snail. It takes forever to do anything! Even at the lowest set quality.
And somehow i doubt its working THAT hard.As i can still perform many functions on my Pc while its encodeing with little to no lag time whatsoever. So i doubt the program is taking taking much advantage of my processors speed.
Is there any way i can get it to use my processors full speed and work faster!

It probably is using your processor at full speed. It will use the processing power available. The more other stuff is running, the less time it will have!
WHat processor is it? -

I have a p4 2.6 processer and it runs slow for me too I hardly even use it except to de-multiplex. Maybe we're doing something wrong?

tmpgenc is slow no matter what you do. I have a 1.2ghz athalon and to do a 2 hr svcd movie, it takes tmpgenc around 20 hours (i set everything for the highest quality). Now I started using CCE and the same movie will literally take half the time with better results. The difference - CCE is $1,950 to buy and tmpgenc is less than 100 bucks.
Now if i do the same movie in vcd, it will only take 6 hours using tmpgenc (that is with motion precision set at best quality).
