    can you tell me what does burn as data means.

    "Burn as data" means to burn the file to the CD in the same way you would save it to your hard drive.
    In your case you would burn the DivX AVI file in the same way as you would burn MP3s, Excel files, Word documents and the like.

    In contrast, a (S)VCD needs to be authored (=formatted), then burnt to CD in that specific format.
