  1. I have a divx movie (730 mb, 90 minutes) and I would like to convert it to VCD (2x700mb cds). The problem is that when I do the encoding with TMPGEenc the size of the finsihed VCD file is 2.4 gb which is a little too much.
What do I have to if I want to get a 1.4 gb file?

  2. Which bitrate do you use to encode? Do you use the wizard or a template? If you use the wizard you can use the integrated bitrate calculator to reduce the size of the file. Also: you can lower the audio bitrate in <settings> <audio> to 128 and joint stereo - but honestly, none of that should be necessary for the file you described to make it fit! Some more info on how you encoded it would be helpful.

  3. MPEG-1 352x288 23,976fps CBR 1000kbps, Layer-2 44100Hz 128kbps

It says the the projected file size will be 2.4 gb. I don't know what is wrong.

There was some bug in TTMPGEnc 2.59 which made the movies produced by TMGEnc larger that calculated so you better install the newest version 2.510,you can get it grom here:http://www.tmpgenc.net/e_main.html

  8. OK...I made a vmpg/cd that will fit on 2 cds but the problem now is that there is no sound when I play it on my PC even though the information says that there is available audio in the file. What could be the problem now?

  10. Reducing bitrate will only make it worse. Try setting 'Motion search precision' in the video tab to high or highest quality, it takes a while but the result will be better.
