I am trying to convert a RealMedia video file to AVI but I am having a problem. I tried to convert using MediaCoder but it is only converting the first 4 seconds of the video and says its complete. What am I doing wrong? I originally tried alltoavi but that didn't work at all and TINRA encodes only the audio.

Keep trying tools, like WinFF, Super or the avisynth method together with real alternative see https://forum.videohelp.com/topic289872.html?highlight=real alternative .

Real Media is just awful. It was designed years ago in the old dialup days for low bandwidth streaming. It sacrifices quality to save space. Even the best quality Read Media file is inferior to just about every other video codec there is.

Some Real Media files won't convert. Nobody knows why. All you can do is keep trying programs to convert it. Maybe you will find one that works, but if you don't, you'll just have to give up.

Does WinFF support RealMedia? It isnt listed as one of the choices on the "RM to AVI" page. I tried to use it but it didnt seem to work.

I tried SUPER and it has the same problem as MediaCoder in that it only encodes the first 4 seconds of the video. I see in the MediaCoder window that it shows more than video stream. Could that be the problem? How can I choose which video stream to encode?
