I am using TMPG to split MPEG-2, SVCD compliant VBR movies.
I have tried some other products that might do it faster and more accurately and also provide more editing functions.
After about driving myself crazy, stupidly purchase (non)Honestech's editor, testing M2-edit, I'm thinking nothing out there really works for SVCDs.
If I have to de-multiplex and multiplex again in TMPG after slicing a movie, then I might as well use TMPG to cut the movie into several parts.
It appears that these editors "might" cut SVCD's, into compliant SVCDs if the are CBR, but is there any editor that cuts VBR, compliant SVCDs ?
I urge all of you to stay away from Honestech. They stink on SVCDs, and don't return support e-mails and drove me crazy with wasting time. Their product is ok for VCD, but not for SVCD.
