I am using NanDub to join 2 XViD movies together but I get an error about the 2 files having a different audio stream (this is true as one is mp3 135 kb/s VBR and the other is 136) so I'll have to rip the audio from one and adjust the audio then mix the old video and new audio together.
I think I know how to mix together using TMPGenc but how do I adjust the audio to ensure I can connect these two together using NanDub ?
Please help as this is (hopefully) final stage before encoding to VCD.

Vdub
Load file 1
Audio > full processing mode
SAVE WAV > part1.wav
Video > Direct Stream Copy
Audio > Direct Stream Copy
Audio > WAV Audio > part1.wav
SAVE AVI
Do the same for file 2
The file now has its original video but now has uncompressed audio, you can now append them, but you also need to make sure the join is correct, does part 2 start where part 1 finished ?. was the cut made at keyframes when they were originally split...
However since the final is going to be a VCD, why not just convert both half's, and join the .mpg later with TMPGEnc ? -
You get that if you encode a movie in 2 parts, instead of encoding the movie and splitting it into 2 parts. Ahhhhh, the joys of VBR Audio.
As far as being out of sync with PCM audio, It shouldn't happen. Is the audio and video the same lenght after you seperate them? then you should be in sync. Is the sync progressively worse, or a fixed offset. And, do the 2 1/2's overlap a few seconds? To Be, Or, Not To Be, That, Is The Gazorgan Plan -

After following KingJohns advice I know have one huge avi still in XViD format with uncompressed audio (bigger than the video stream !!). Next stage is to convert into 3 SVCD sized chunks for burning
Cheers KingJohn for your Vdub advice - I'll shall let you know how I get on with the final stage in TMPGenc.
Thanks again. -
You could always load them back in to vdub and use MP3
then your AVI is much smaller, but no point if your not keeping the AVI

Finally finished a 3 svcd ver of these 2 files. Had to get the 2nd Xvid file again as there were too many bad frames for it to be useable. I ended up doing three CBR SVCDS - with roughly an hour on each. I am now going to attempt a 2 disc SxVCD using CQ_VBR I think i can get almost 1 1/2 hours onto a CD
Thanks for all the help - I've used the finished product on many DVD players with no problems - cheers !!
