  1. I can only seem to find the guides for converting DVD Movies to VCD. I am trying to convert Episodes of Buffy to VCD's, there are 4 episodes per DVD. Can someone please direct me to a guide for doing this, or give me some help? I'm using smart ripper, thanks.

Episodes from TV episode disks will show as individual movies in Smartripper movie mode. Four epsodes will show as four individual movies in the Smartripper window. In my expierence Smartripper has trouble identiying the episodes and I find DVD Decrypter more accuarate in identifying individual episodes.

Episodes are a bitch sometimes. You are correct to be bafled with it. Problems arise when (actually poorly authored) episode DVDs contain multiple episodes into the same Program Chain (i.e. VOB).

Here's what I did to re-make an X-Files DVD with subtitles.

    1. I ripped the DVD onto the disk with Smartripper in Backup mode.
    2. Ripped (again), each episode in turn with Smartripper in movie mode out to separate directories.
    3. After this step, I had "vitual" movies made out of each episode, therefore I followed the normal practice for each in turn.
(You must have plenty of HD space to afford such approaches, but this hobby requires HD anyhow).

You will eventually end up with 4 separate video streams (Program streams or Elementary Streams) to feed to the authoring program.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.

  5. i just riped off some episodes of record of lodoss war dvd using smart ripper! The only think you will d is ti rip only the chapters that contains one episode ( for example in lodoss war each chapter contains one episode , so i rip off only one chapter at a time) , Then use the normal method as in movies to make a mpeg with only one episode.
