  4. The BeSweet encoder (AC3Enc) can come up with strange, "incompatible" ac3 files, the files are ok actualy but players seems to reject them sometimes, my player does for example.
Soft Encode is a good but annoying program so I wouldn't recommend it.
A good AC3 encdoer is the scenarist encoder, buy of course you must own the software to have it.

  5. ok i have got the scenarist encoder , now can i import mono wav file or this scenarist encoder exept stereo file also?
i know that SurCode work with Mono file only...

  6. If you use the scenarist encoder, just check the "2-CH Interleaved Input" and uncheck LFE Enable .

Under the Edit button, change the data rate to whatever you want, set the Dolby Surround Mode to indicate whether or not there is dolby surround encoding (or leave it not indicated if you don't know).

Personally, I normally uncheck Audio Prod Info Exists. The Input filtering doesn't seem to make a lot of difference, at least on the sources I've used.....
    Good luck.

  7. "2-CH Interleaved Input" is only 2 channel Audio?
I am sorry im not undersdant the meaning of that..
LFE is low frquency something what does it means if i enable it?
    thanks

  8. Yes, it's only 2 channel Audio - what is your WAV file? - most wav files are stereo (possibly with dolby surround). If you check LFE, then you need to supply a mono WAV file with the low frequency information, which you undoubtedly do NOT have.

There are ways to convert a dolby surround to the 5 wave files to create an AC3 5.1. However, all the ways I know result in inferior sound to just using the original dolby surround due to the amount of processing done on the wav file.

  9. How come my 2/0 audio, when encoded into AC3, is VERY soft? I am using Soft Encode

  10. Asphodeli,
You can adjust the volume level by adjusting the " Dialog normalization" setting in the encode settings screen.

It still doesnt work...when I play back the sound file it differes in volume from the original WAV file, even if i set the "dialog normalization" setting to the highest (-1dB)...

I get good results with BeSweet, using the BeSweet GUI, and whatever the latest version is. I've never had an incompatible ac3, although I have had a few bad MP2's, due to a bug in the GUI interface.

Asphodeli, this may be off the wall, but have you looked at your Volume settings? There is a seperate WAV volume setting, as opposed to the master volume.
Impossible to see the future is. The Dark Side clouds everything...
