  1. In tmpgenc 2.55 when I convert from divx to VCD, everything looks fine and dandy, however when I convert to SVCD I get this look of pulsating bits throught the picture. I've provided a sample in mpeg-2

    www.skepticmedia.com/mi-16-test.zip

No matter the selection, this seems to happen, the original Divx does not have this problem and encoding it to vcd works fine. the info on the divx are as follows:
    Frame Size / FPS / us pf: 480x256 23.976 fps (41708 us)
    # of frames (time): 126400 (1:27:51)
    Decompressor: DivX MPEG-4 Low-Motion
    Key Frames 1567

This also was a vbr divx <audio>

If someone can tell me how this happens and how to get rid of it, that'd be great. been plagueing me for months.

  3. Ive also been experiencing the same problem with 2 DIvx files of mine. Ive tried using 2 different encoder programs and both have the same result. TNPG and CCE both will not convert to SVCD without the pulsating white box. VCD works for me though. So if you happen to figure it out, please post it or let me know because it has been troublng me for a while now.

    Thanks

  4. Since it seems no one likes to help here, I came to the conclusion on my own. How you can get it to work is to encode it in CONSTANT QUALITY (CQ) in tmpgenc. Dunno about CCE

  7. I am positive that my problem is exactly the same as yours. I would upload a copy of my own problem if i had the capability. If you really have no idea, then its okay but if anyone else does, please help. Its kinda annoying having to make vcds now.
    thanks
