dvd player problems with vcd

hi i am using the 1 cd newbie guide to do divx to vcd and it works prefectly on my akai dvd player but when i try it on my mates sony dvd player the lipsync is out, the movie is in 23.976 fps, my akai was a very cheap dvd player so i thought if they work on that they should work on a more expensive sony, if anyone could help it would be fantastic

If you made it fit on 1 cd then you made an XVCD not a VCD, not all players support non standard disks. You should only make VCD's if you want them to play on more players.
