Hi Adam,
Could you tell me, when you start up WinonCD 3.8pe which project type you select (VideoCD, Data etc) when you are going to import the .RAW tracks created by videopack 4, i`ve tried importing the RAW tracks and created the .c2d file, but when i try to load it into CDMage it just tells me its wrong format or another such error, could you please give me some details as to what exactly you do when making a VCD this way, Please!
Thanks for any help
Highlaner

Highlander, you can burn straight from videopack 4 since videopack's drivers and WinOnCds are compatible just goto http://www.roxio.de and download the drivers for your burner but tell it to put the new drivers in the \videopack 4\ directory instead of winoncd. So as long as winoncd is supported by roxio you can use your cd-r(w) with it! Im even using the new Plex-24x on videopack 4 (although for some reason it will only detect it as 4x...but it works!=)

This is a great program.
Now I can take advantage of those 99min CD's.
You can fit up to 945Mb on those.

adam, could you please explain your definition of "overburn"? I remembered before overburn refer to get an extra 30MB or so (I can't remember exactly the amount)space on 650MB CD-R (at that time, the only capacity we could get).
But from reading other posts in this thread, it appears your "overburn" refers to bigger capacity CD-R,such as 80min, 99min etc.
Then I have the question, for previous defined "overburn", it won't make a big difference, it's only a few min extra.
For bigger capacity CD-R, I used I-Author, EZ CD Creator 4.03, and TDK burner. I don't have any problems to burn a 80 min CD (no any special processing). I did not try 99min CD-R because I don't have one.
I'm not saying there is anything wrong within your post, I just want to make sure I understand what you guys talking about. Thanks.

AT: all cdrs have a space at the very end of the disk which is reserved for the TOC. All of this space is not needed though, in most cases. So, assuming your media, hardware, and burning program support this, you can burn straight through that space and use it for additional data. No its not much but it will let you bump up your bitrate just a tad, and it sure helps when your just a few MB's over the limit and dont want to cut anything or re-encode it all. This is what "overburning" is. You can do it with any media regardless of its capacity and in some cases it can allow you to squeeze a decent amount of extra data in.
Ez CD creator has no problem burning 80 min cdrs but it absolutely will not let you burn any more than 80 mins total, regardless of the capacity of the media. This makes overburning an 80 min cdr using convential I-Author methods impossible. And if you wanted to use 90 or 99 min cdrs you would still be limited to only 80 mins of content.
Using CDMage allows you to basically export your I-Author image into any burning program you want, which among other things, lets you overburn an 80 min cdr as well as use higher capacity media.
