  1. Hi,
I just wanted to get peoples opinions on which dvd authoring program is the best. I'm looking for the best one for home videos. I dont care for things like motion menues becuase there is no use for them but I would like ALOT of options and YES quality is an issue.

    Thanks

  4. Price isn't an option, but I would like the most features. I would also like a professional looking dvd.

    Thanks

  5. Try ulead.com, they have free trial downloads of most of their programs. I bought movie factory 2 and like it, but if you want all the bells and whistles, and know how to figure it all out, Get Ulead VideoStudio for $100 or Ulead MediaStudioPro for $500. Funny thing is, probably not much difference in the two, but I don't know for sure. Movie Factory 2 is pretty basic and simple. I also have Video Wave 4 and hated it when I began to use it. I since have tried others and found myself reverting back on occassion because it does alot of things my other programs won't.

  6. Okay, out of these programs, which is the best quality wise and has lots of features. Ulead DVD Workshop Pro, Sonic DVDit Pro or Pinnacle Impression Pro?

    Thanks

  8. Authoring DVD Maestro (By Spruce) Chapters, Menus everything. And GearPro Burning software, the best $149 I spent. I have a Pioneer DVD writer and with the $.60 dvd-r's I can even play them in my old JCV XV-D2000 set top. (it won't play anything that's rewritable) and checked with friends PS-2 works like a champ. The best combo by far!

  9. DVD Maestro for ripping DVD's and Ulead DVD Workshop for home videos (it takes raw avi directly)

DVD Maestro is no longer available - very difficult to find.

Ulead DVD Workshop download trial offer for free. Easy to use and powerful.

    For Editing Videos:

Ulead Video Wave 4 - I was using 3 and I loved it also. Adobe Premier is more powerful but difficult to use. I recently upgraded to version 5 and its compiler are better. I use to get motion problems when converting to MPEG2.

  10. What ever you do don't buy Magix Movies to CD & DVD. I purchased it. It was not too bad until I realized you could not use the DVD cursor keys (directional buttons). you have to use the skip keys and number keypad for menu navigation. Sounds like they did not think clearly or the European market is different or something. I ended up getting my money back and getting Ulead movie factory 2. Demo worked for me well. I already have Dazzle DVD complete. I like the DAzzle for getting motion menus and stuff. I bought the Ulead for a quicker authoring for older tapes I don't want to spend as much time on.
