  1. i have an ATI All in Wonder 128 Pro 32mb, my comp is a p3 866 with 384mb ram

ive been capping for a while now in vdub at 352x240, but i wanted to try to cap at 704x480 for improved quality, however im dropping way too many frames, about 100-140 every 30 seconds, im not sure if its that my card just cant handle it or my computer isnt good enough, if anyone has any ideas on how i can resolve this and capture at 704x480 without excessive loss of frames, please help =]

or if its just not possible, please post saying so and way, thanks in advance :]

  4. First defrag your hard drive.
Second shut down all programs not being used. Everything that is in the bar at the bottom of your screen.
Third select a smaller preview window for the ATI Tv. I have noticed when I capture at a higher resolution and have the preview window large I would drop frame. Then when I made the preview window smaller I didn't drop frames anymore.

    Good Luck,

Louca you never be able capture at that screensize, NTSC is only good 352x240 and Pal 352x288 tops to but that depend where you live some Pal user can go higher but it take lot CPU hosepower to do it and mega fast harddrive, The only way your going get that kind of screensize is a Real-Time MPEG2 hardware capture card like Dazzle DVC-II or Hauppauge WinTV-PVR use less you got the cash for somelike Pinnacle Systems DC1000DV.

Enable DMA on bios and system(control panel) of all your devices (hard disk; CD-Room; CD-Room Burn). You'll get better performance.
    Bye.

  8. Try and pick up a IDE RAID card and if you have two spare hard drives you can stripe them, you will be able to capture at 720x480 noproblem no more droped frames.
