  1. Hi Folks

I got my DRU 500 just over a week ago.

I had a few problems which were fixed by upgrading the firmware and upgrading to RecordNow DX.

One problem remains, which I think might be the drive itself. When I use DVD+R or DVD+RW I have no problems, I can write the full 4.3GB. When I use DVD-R I can only write about 4GB, any more and recordNow DX fails towards th end of the write. I've been using Monarch disks (and one with a white label and no other indication on it).

Anyone else seen anything like this?

Even if it turns out to be a prblem with the drive, I'm tempted to keep it.

    What do you reckon?

    Hugh.

  2. I can write the full 4.7/4.38 on ACCU -R discs. You might try a different brand or 2.

There are threads in the forum on media compatibility for the Sony.
Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin'

This seems to be a media-related problem only. Crappy discs.

  4. Go to the website from the disc to download the lastest Record Now DX. You will have to insert the disc and click on DLA. Make sure you are accessing the internet. The lastest Record Now DX from the website should do the trick
