A DVD data question, for most of you with experience burning DVD's.

Before I take the plunge, I was wondering....
Can DVD's be burned as a simple
DATA disc, the same way as a CD
    can?

I presently convert my music collection to MP3, then put them
onto cd to play all day in my
DVD player. For me, this is great.
If I do the same onto a DVD, do
you think the DVD player will respond the same and play my MP3's,
or will it stall and be looking for a movie or something?

will there be a problem with the fact that the mp3's are 44.1k on
    a DVD data disc?
    Has anyone done this?

    Thanks in advance.

yes you can put mp3's on a dvd as data. but not all dvd players will play them. This is a searchable feature in the dvd player compatability lists.

depends on the dvd player... I know for a fact that the apex ad-1201 plays mp3s on a dvd.

    Thank you for your response.
    That's great.
All of my DVD players play mp3 on
cdr, now I guess the question is
if they'll do it on DVD-r.
But at least I now know its
    do-able.

    thanks again.
