  1. Hey MF 2users,

I see this issue cropping up and am having the same problem. Encoding MPEG 2's creating in TMPGenc 2 pass VBR, while maximizing the KBS rate to fit the disc is creating "oversampling" type problems when authoring in MF 2. In this case the video is stable during lower bitrate scenes and begins to jump during high bitrate scenes while audio is always synced.

The video acts like it's being sampled over 9000kbs but after checking on my standalone unit, the bitrate never exceeds 8000kbs with an average of about 5500kbs.

Does anyone have a solution to this other than sacrificing quality!!?? Pehaps a bug??

  2. I solved my own problem. When encoding MPEG2 for DVD authoring, you must encode with Bottom Field B and interlace. Any other settings will cause the jitter problems.
