can someone tell me how to convert a mov file to mpeg?

If you are on a PC, you can use TMPGEnc with the MOV VFAPI plugin to convert it to an MPEG.

This forum has a good How To, try looking at: http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgenc.htm

If that's a bit much, the simple and dirty is:

1. Go to http://www.tmpgenc.net and download the trial version of TMPGENC.
2. Go to http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/4942/svcd.html and download the QTReader.vfp, put it in the same directory as unzipped TMPGENC into.

Then follow the How To. This assumes you already have the right codecs, etc.. If it doesn't work, there is a problems section to the How To that should get you in the right direction.

that guide is for avi to mpeg. not mov to mpeg

i'm going to try to use rad video tools to convert it to avi. just as long as it opens with media player thats fine. but there is no audio. anyone use that?

anyone have any ideas on what i can convert the mov file to so i can open it with media player?

ok i got the qtreader file and put it in the tmpgenc folder like it said and i also opened up the mov file with tmpgenc. but when i try to convert it says it cant create that file with the mpeg. anyone know what to do or if there is a guide that will help?

ok i got through that problem. but now the video is kind of crappy and there is no audio

the audio is teh important part. someone please tell me why its not converting the audio

I have some widescreen Mov files that I want to convert to MPG for VCD.
I know how to do it with 4:3, but not to keep 16:9 correct.

How do I do?
