the current released version still has issues wrt dvd-dvd for some people. Don't bother, it will only bring you grief.
The other modes are fine, so if you wanna do anything *but* DVD-DVD, keep pluggin' away.
The version we are testing is handling this *swimmingly*! So far, everyone is pleased.
Just hang tight people. The new forty-two is so radically different that it isn't worth killing yoursef over the released one if its giving you a hard time.
PLEASE stop emailing me about this one. Please. Its very, VERY frustrating.
Virtually all issues have been resolved, and all of the other questions have been answered on this forum.
As we get reports in from the testers, we'll update our progress page.
If things go as well as they appear now, we may be getting to release a LOT sooner than I thought. We really pulled out the stops for this one, and we *know* you'll be...
Pleased

Kai,
Question about release.
You mentioned that the beta of Forty-Two would most likely only be available to loyal $upporters.
Does that mean once you've tested it, the general public will be able to access it?
Where I get confused is the difference between a beta and version 1.0?
I thought a beta was released to a small select public for testing and bug finding purposes only, and version 1.0 is considered to be the "final" product and is then distributed to the public or end users from there.
Kai, I'd love to make a donation, really I would, but I haven't about 6 dollars to my name right now.... and that 6 canadian dollars, worth dick all....
Being a student, cash doesn't come easy.
All in all... I'm looking forward to the upcoming version, but I'm really not sure whether it will be availible to the likes of me.
Thanks for all you've done so far... this DVD > SVCD is absolutely genius. Nothing short of a heaven sent.
Hope the programming treats you well, and the Starbuck gods grace your mug.

I've been there, I know what its like. Hell...I *am* there. forty-two is my job at this point, upwards of 14hrs a day tweaking, coding and supporting. Its not paying much now, but maybe that will change.
I also know that everyone who can benefit, should.
Hell frog, winning over a violent skeptic like yourself is reward...believe it.

Thanks again for your efforts, I too would advise charging, since I hate to see people take advantage, but one thing that I LOVE about mac users is they support each other - so I beg people to support you guys, you have changed the scene of DVD/VCD/DIVX on the mac, and as far as donation-ware tools go, this will probably be the best of breed on ANY platform. Nice work. If the 1.0 is a good as it seems, I'll donate AGAIN (this ones for you frog - I was a student not long ago...)
