    Hi

I´m normaly using DVD2SVCD with Tmpg. And no problems.
But when I am using CCE 2.5x to convert an avi file into SVCD it makes the wrong aspect ratio. It uses the same aspect ratio like the avi file, but i put in DVD2SVCD to make SVCD 576x480. This always worked with Tmpg but CCE is much faster. I shows in the preview the correct aspect ratio but when i look at the output it is always a black border around and there is the movie in a small size in the middle.

    Hoping for an fast answer

    thanx Movman

Was your source letterboxed or fullframe?? CCE in it's video setup panel has an option to select 4:3(fullframe) or 16:9(letterboxed). Did you select correctly. If you encode with CCE why would you then use DVD2SVCD?
You have the m2v,just remux with Tmpeg createing the proper stream type for what your encodeing.

Im guessing you meant 480x576? If not then that could be your problem right there.

If your source is an avi and you want to keep the same aspect ratio than you set it to 1:1.

How are you testing the output? Only a hardware or software dvd player will parse the aspect ratio flag. If you just play it in media player it will not look right.

I have heard that CCE does not properly set the 16:9 aspect ratio flag in a SVCD, and in fact most dvd players don't support this aspect for SVCDs anyway. You could try using pulldown.exe (get the gui) to set the aspect ratio to 16:9 in instances where you need it, ie: source was 16:9. The only reason I suggest this is becase it seems your hardware player does support 16:9 SVCDs, since you said it works with TMPGenc's output. Just keep in mind that more than likely the next dvd player you buy will not support 16:9 svcds, and you may be stuck with a whole bunch of non-playable disks. My advice is to always encode SVCDs to 4:3 regardless of the source aspect ratio.

Tell you what Ive done using DVD2SVCD, after trying to better understand aspect ratio, I came across a program called FitCD 1.1.2, In DVD2SVCD on the frameserver tab, set it to edit the avs script, when that edit dialog pops up after dvd2avi is finished, open the dv2 project with fit cd and it will give you the proper crop and resize script, paste it into the popup and choose save>OK and it will work nicely, Ive enjoyed excellent results. The only thing I changed on the FitCD settings was the increments all to 16
Hmm, I don't know, maybe, what was the question.

FitCD is great and I use it myself but its probably not really relevent to his problem. FitCD will correctly calculate your resizing for a desired aspect ratio, but you still have to set the aspect ratio correctly and your dvd player still has to be able to support that aspect ratio. It seems that either his dvd player doesn't support 16:9 SVCDs or the 16:9 aspect ratio flag is not being set correctly by the encoder.

My DVD Player supports everything. I only want to use CCE to get it done faster.

But what makes me go crazy is that in the preview still of DVD2SVCD the aspect ratio is correct.

But when encoded there are four black borders and in the middle the movie.

    What do i do wrong.

Tried all aspect ratio settings in DVD2SVCD

    No success
