  1. A tool that I think would be handy is one that can automaticly create a chapter list along with thumbnails say every x number of minutes.

Anyone run into a third party tool like this? Would be ideal if it could be imported into Maestro.

Pinnacle´s Studio 8 can be set up to do that, too. It divides the film during capture into scenes which can then be authored by drag&drop to become chapters. You can have Studio check the material and look for cuts to divide the scenes, as well.

  5. When you add a menu at the start of the movie, Studio 8 automatically ask if you want it to insert chapter points at the beginning of each scene. If your answer is yes, it will do it automatically.
    A scene is obtained by:
    1) when you video tape (using digital camcorder), each time you STOP then START, a new scene is created
    2) in EDIT mode, move the scrubber to the place you want to define as starting of a scene, then do a SPLIT.
