Has anyone used , Digital STREAM HiDTV Pro HDTV/SDTV/NTSC receiver/recorder card???

I'm considering either the card mentioned above or the JVC HMDH30000U HIGH DEF DVHS VCR as my capture device. I know very little about either device except what I've read on their sites. Since, in the near future, the new format will be HDTV then I'm trying to get ready for that to happen by thinking ahead.

Does the JVC transfer the MPEG2 file through the firewire, in MPEG2 format or does it make an DV AVI??

If anyone has any good info on these devices, please respond.
