  1. ERROR: Drive does not accept any cue sheet variant - please report.
    ERROR: Writing failed.
    [Quicksilver:Contents/Resources/bin]

no .cue files work. i have burned many svcd with MMB no problem prior to a couple days ago. im running 10.2.3, MMB .4 and a PowerMac 867.

  2. I'm getting the same error. But, strangely enough, it's only when I try to overburn. Try burning a data image that's under 650megs and you'll see what I mean. Some folks over at the Version Tracker page for MMB have indicated the same problem.

    I'm on a G4 733 with a Sony CRX140e and OSX 10.2.3

  5. Well, let's start a timeline:

Here is my part, can someone feel in the dates of the Apple updates such as OS 10.x.x, QT, and any other that may have killed cdrdao?

Someone may want to d/l version 0.1 and give it a try. I should have versions 0.2 & 0.3 also, but not online.

    Change Log
    Version 0.4 Dec 29 2002 --- homepage.mac.com/rnc
    NO update to cdrdao

    Version 0.3 Dec 2002
    Upgraded to cdrdao-1.1.8a

    Version 0.2 Oct 2002
    Upgraded to cdrdao-1.1.7

    Version 0.1 May 30 2002
    Initial release with cdrdao-1.1.5 --- www.angelfire.com/mac/rnc/

  6. Thanks for the info, Ross. My guess is that the problem lies with cdrdao. I tried v. 1.1.5 with the link you provided. However, I got a similar "could not send cue sheet" error when trying to overburn.

The error was a bit more verbose than with v.1.1.8-pre1. I'll paste it below:

?: Undefined error: 0. : scsi sendcmd: no error
    CDB: 5D 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 20 00

Sense Key: 0x5 Illegal Request, Segment 0
Sense Code: 0x26 Qual 0x00 (invalid field in parameter list) Fru 0x0
Sense flags: Blk 0 (not valid) error refers to data part, bit ptr 0 (not valid) field ptr 29
cmd finished after 0.515s timeout 180s
    ERROR: Cannot send cue sheet.
    ERROR: Simulation failed.

We need to test versions 1.1.6-1.1.8 of cdrdao. Anyone save their copies?

  7. A bit of good news:

I was able to compile cdrecorder using Fink and have it overburn the .bin images generated by MMB. It's not as sleek as MMB, but it will get the job done if you need to free up some HD space.

Perhaps someone could explain to me why rnc uses cdrdao instead of cdrecorder? The latter appears to be far more robust and effective.

  8. I will explain:

    It wasn't broke till now.

Send me the binaries, I'll see what I can do.

    Thanks,
    RNC

  10. Sorry, got caught up playing with 42.
But, I am one of those that gets errors, and can't use 42.

So, I'll spend some time looking at the cdrecoder binaries.
    Thanks to OmegaRedd1
