I converted an avi to MPEG-2 successfully and followed the Spruce-Up Guide to set up a menu and chapters etc, then saved the resultant DVD setup both as a files list (.vobs etc) and also as an .img file for burning straight to disk.
I started with the vob files through Nero - set it up for Video DVD, burnt the video files into the VIDEO_TS folder and burnt the disk. Worked a treat in my PS2 and PC. My standalone refused to acknowledge it's presence, same with my son's standalone (although that IS an old one!).
I decided to record the .img file, using RecordNow MAX, as apart from Nero which treats the .img as a 'Foreign Image File', I have nothing else that will write to DVD-R.
This recorded the image and I got the same result.
According to the Standalone Player Specs list, me Lecson DVD900 will read everything except DVD+R/RW - so why the hell won't it play these DVDs.
I'm using BulqPaq purples, but I have successfully used these with DVD-X-Copy to back up the first three Bond disks. I'm at my wits end and haven't a clue where I'm going wrong - someone please help!
