CODEC Hassles

All of a sudden my computer has decided to be unable to play some video files AVI etc, all I get is either a green screen with audio or the media player shuts down automatically when it is trying to open the file.

I have tried reinstalling, Nimo, KS Studio, DirectX 9, DIVx 3.11, 4, 5 but no joy.

What have I missed?

maybe u should downlaod the 'ACE MEGA CODEC PACK' i can't say if it will solve ur problems but it has all the codec u need too play almost anything.. however it's strange ur mediaplayer shuts down if you're tryin to open a file when it should say 'file not supported' or something like that
but any way... if it not works tell more about ur mediaplayer and th stuff you've installed.. ciao

green screen often problem from xvid movies. Try installing pure xvid codec from

Dont install ANY codec packs !!

Only install what you need, test your system to see what you need then only install the codecs separately
