For me I re-encoded each of the 3 MPG's files to the DVD standard using TMPGEnc.
From there all depends on your authoring/burning program. I use Maestro or DVD Workshop mostly.

when you encode to dvd do you just put the bit rate way down.
Im putting on like 4 cheech and chong and other series like that. -
Well depends if you use CBR or VBR and what quality the SVCD where.
I had some that came from DVD Sources so I did one i did CBR with about 3000-3500 bit rate and the VBR one was done at 3200.

Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin'

depending on the file sizes you can merge them together then demux the
merged file and burn that.
however, as mpeg file sizes get bigger the merge function tends to toss the audio sync out.
So I'd just load up dvd2avi - load all the mpegs in order, save the project
and re-encode in cce or tmpgenc.

Strangely I've found many times DVD2AVI to be the source of my Audio sync issues. I just batch encode all my MPEG's now and merge them after.

if any1 has ever used that guide kitty has posted pls let me know if it works cause it didnt for me
this is crazy im not dumb and i can read, now i tried every step to chandge my DOWNLOADED MOVIE FILES THAT ARE ON DISK(CDR) to try to burn them to dvdr the way the guides say and i get nothing.
well on the svcd guide i think i got close but the file says 1.9gigs but
dvdit (shows file to be way larger that 4.7gigs)
mydvd (says not enuff space exceeds 650mb on cdr when i have settings for dvd)
dvd factory2 ( will process it but always wants to convert files for some reason and i left on all night for like 10hrs and it was still converting and i have a fast processor) why does it try to convert if i followed the guide correctly and the guide says nothing about converting
pls help.
can some1 pls tell me exactly how they do it the exact programs (versions included) and everything if they used cdrs that have movies off the net on them and everything the whole 9 yards
THANK YOU -
If your DVD player supports Mpeg1/2 ISO, you don't have to re-encode anything. With Nero, select DVD-Rom (ISO) and drag the mpegs to be burned, then write to disk.
With the Apex AD1200, it will also play mpegs with multiple audio tracks but not the subtitles. I'm sure others will.
