I can play most video on WMP 9 without any problem. My friend came over yesterday and we tried a large .avi movie file with WMP 9 on his laptop. First the sound was good but no video so we installed ffdshow and it worked fine. With another .avi move, the video was very blotchy so we installed the AC3 codec but it didn't fix it. I'm did this from memory because I recall having the same problem but maybe I gave him bad advice.
Any suggestions on how to fix this and get his video working?
    Tia for any info.

  2. Video cards can have a great effect on playback of a movie, laptops generally do not have as good of a vid card as a desktop.
