  1. I've tried some templates but they dont help much. I want to know which is the best VCD template that will play in all VCD compatible DVD's.

use the one in the template folder named video cd (ntsc). that is a normal vcd and is the most compatible.

  3. What about quality, is there any way to modify them to make them look better?

  5. With TMPGEnc, you could set the "Motion Search Precision" setting to "slow". This will lead to slower encoding but higher quality.

Changing bitrate and/or framesize will lead to non-standard encoding.
