I recently encoded an AVI using CCE 2.66. I checked DVD compliant and muxed it with TMPGenc and it created an MPEG2. I then attempted to author it in MovieFactory 2 (and checked the box not to re-render DVD compliant MPGs). Movie Factory 2 tells me that "some rendering is required" and spends about 2 1/2 hours "converting video". Doesn't this defeat the purpose of using a high quality encoder like CCE. I should note that this does not happen when I use TMPGenc. Thank you for any help.

Hojobey, make sure the audio of the MPEG2 file is 48Khz before you use Movie Factory. You can check it with VirtualDub v1.4.13 under file info.

Thank you for your reply. I did exactly what you said and it now works perfectly. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your advice. It saved me several hours of guessing. (actually I spent several hours guessing). You saved me several more!
