DVD PLAYER ???

i cant play certain on my dvd players but they work on my computer i have never had a problem like it b4 was wondering weather i can change anythin to make vcds playbe on my dvds or not

It's hard to make anything out of your post at all. Check these points and give us a more detailed description of your problem.

- Is your DVD player generally able to play VCDs?
- Are these "certain" CDs that won't play perhaps XVCD or SVCD?
- If so, does your player support these formats?

Take a look at the DVD Players section here on VCDHelp and search for your player. If it doesn't support VCD, you will have to get a newer one.

sorry i have yukai dvd player it usaually plays everythng but recently has stopped playin some vcd's been told it is my player but i dont think it is ???

Sometimes the SEGMENT directory is missing in a VCD image, and many DVD players won't accept such a CD. Put the CD into your PC and check if everything is as it should be. If not (or you're not sure) burn the VCD again, but this time insert only the DAT file into a new VCD project. Your burn prog should do the rest for you.

p.s the only copy of the vcd i have is on the cd which doesnt work on my dvd player is this ok ??

I thought that maybe this VCD you're having problems with was burnt directly as a (downloaded?) image file, like ISO or Bin/CUE. A burning program such as Nero simply burns this raw data on a CD without making any checks. But sometimes these VCD image files do not contain the complete directory structure necessary for the DVD player to recognize it as VCD.
The normal way to produce a VCD is to start a new VCD project in the burning program (I am talking about Nero now, but it applies to other programs as well) and import the MPEG video file. The application will then automatically create the correct files/directories.
When you put your VCD into your CD-ROM, you will notice a rather large DAT file (the size depends on the length of your video) in a directory called MPEGAV. This DAT file is an MPEG video with some additional header information.
So, start a new VCD project, import this DAT file (copy it to your harddisk first) and burn it. Of course you need a CD writer for this...

I can't say for sure because I don't know the details of your DVD player and the VCD, but I think it's definately worth a try. If the video itself is a VCD compliant MPEG stream (import the DAT in Nero and check if it reports any errors) and your player accepts other VCDs, then try it.
