    After running a video clip thru Ulead 6 then burning it,
    the only media player I can get to play the file is
    Windows Media Player. Others say they don't recognize
    the .dat file type, or such.

    Am I doing something wrong?

    better use powerdvd, much better for stuff like (s)vcd and dvd
