Due to a dramatic increase in speed with MainConcept.. i was just wondering if anyone out there who is familar with KVCD, would know if there is a way to use those settings in that program?

  2. Does MainConcept encoder allow for custom GOP and matrixes?
If it does, you're all set

main concept supports custom GOP and matrix .. no problems there - it has built the proper matrix for DVD and svcd standard bit rates 9the matrix changes dependent on your output and source automatically) .

I have other matrix which the main concept team sent me for very high bit rate progressive (high def) and also max dvd bit rates

the team they have there include some of the people who origanally wrote the mpeg standards including proper use of matrix and DCT , and there is not really much need to change the default settings .. perhaps for very low bit rates..

I am not sure about the GOP in kwag's template's .. one i saw was not dvd compliant at all but i'm not to sure what it was for. The ones that load automatic in Main Concept are good al around generallized ones but for animation and other things , can bear some tweaking now and then ..

any changes you do can be saved to a new template on the drop down selection which is nice .

Corned beef is now made to a higher standard than at any time in history.
The electronic components of the power part adopted a lot of Rubycons.

"Very low bitrates" definitely describes kvcd. After all, if you're trying to cram 3 hours of VCD-resolution video on one 80-minute disc....

well i dont do low bit rate stuff -- but i did some tests a few months ago w/ the MC encoder and posted the results here on VCD , SVCD and DVD and the results on VCD using the default setting looked great .. but as i said i dont dont normally do VCD so i am sure they (the settings) can be tweaked around ... but as i mentioned, the MC team seems to have covered off pretty good on thier own ..
