  2. I know this is a pretty old message, but they still have this deal going on, and I bought a 50 pack. The ones I got were ritek.g03 make, but unbranded surfaces. I haven't had much luck with them. They burn at 2x, but I 2 for 4 right now, and am not optomistic about the future of these disks.

Personally, the disks look pretty crappy, the writing surfaces don't look like that great, and I end up getting small dark spots when I burn...making the disk f-up in my dvd player.

If anyone has had better luck, let me know. I'm gonna keep trying, but I may get frustrated enough to just toss them.

  3. Believe it or not, these are ritek disc and they do burn at the 2x. If you don't like them than I would not suggest buying ritek directly because they are the same disc.

I also have bought these disks from PC Club. My luck seems to have been better but I have been burning them at 1X. Considering their price I have my doubts about their ability at 2X, but who knows?

I'm not using a sony but they do seem to be good disk... but I burn at 1x also, they can be "iffy" at 2x IMHO.

  6. I'm in the WA area myself and got me some of this and they had worked flawlesly, got them from www.pcclub.com, backed up several DVD's and created sevral DVD's with DVD workshop and have had nothing but success.

  7. Well, I'll force them to go @ 1x. I actually think I'm having a bit more success. I burned 4 last night, and I only seem to have had one error, but that was my fault, not the media's.

Actually maybe someone can answer me this. I've noticed that after I burn a disk, if I look at the underside ("burned" surface), sometimes I can see little specks in what looks like the dye. Can anyone confirm this. I thought it was only on these cheapo disks, but I looked at some memorex disks that I have and a couple of them had similar specks. I can't correlate specks to bad burns. Since I've had disks with specks and they work great, and I've had just the opposite hold true. Anyone else ever see these specks or small discolorations.

If you have't noticed them, take a look under good light, and slowly rotate the disk.
