  1. I attempted to Create a VCD from SIGNS and fit it on 1 CD for an EXPERIMENT to see how
the quality would look. These were the settings I THOUGHT would accomplish this:
    > MISC: OUTPUT FILE TYPE: MPEG-1
    > BITRATE: Use 1 CD for ALL BOXES.
    > Min. bitrate: 300
    > Max. bitrate: 2530
    > Avg. Bitrate: 899

    3 Things happened I don't understand -
    > 1 - The end result says SVCD created even thou I used MPEG-1
    > 2 - I ended up with 2 files instead of 1 like i wanted.
    > 3 - It made the First CD 825Mb / Second cd 277Mb.
What do settings do I have to change to get 1-CD as the end result??

    THANKS for ALL replies.....

PS. I know the quality will be GREATLY reduced I'm ONLY doing this as an experiment
to see for MYSELF just how bad it will be. I've already made an SVCD with 2 disks that

    came out GREAT..!!

On the frameserver tab did you select: Resize to "VCD (352 x 240/288)"? This may be part of your problem. I am not sure you will be able to get this working in DVD2SVCD as you want to create an XVCD and there is no XVCD setting, so I suspect with the above change it will create a 1150Kbits/sec CBR file (which is the only video bitrate allowed in the VCD specification.)

Why do you say it would be a XVCD??

    VCD Specifications:

    NTSC/NTSC Film

    Video:
    1150 kbit/sec MPEG-1 CBR
    352 x 240 pixels
    29,97 frames/second
    23,976 frames/second NTSC Film

    Audio:
    224 kbit/sec MPEG-1 Layer2

    PAL

    Video:
    1150 kbit/sec MPEG-1 CBR
    352 x 288 pixels
    25 frames/second

    Audio:
    224 kbit/sec MPEG-1 Layer2

By definition if you change "any" of the set "fixed" VCD specifications you are creating an XVCD. Since VCDs have a fixed, contant video bitrate of 1150kbits/sec, if you change that to "any" value higher or lower and you will be creating an XVCD. Since you want to use a variable bitrate and a average bitrate of 2530, vice 1150, depending upon how one looks at it you are changing one or possibly two of the "fixed" specifications to outside of their specified parameters and by definition "technically" creating an XVCD.

Sorry, my last post I said "...average bitrate of 2530..." that number should be "899" but everthing I said still applies.
