  1. Hi there,

I've read previous posts on the subject, and know that you can burn 800meg onto an 80minute CD when using VCD specs. Does the same apply with XVCD?
Basically, I've got a 52minute XVCD file, which is about 795megs. When I load it into Nero 5.5, the long time-bar at the bottom reads it as about 92minutes, and won't let me burn it onto CD. Anyone know why? How can I burn an 800meg XVCD onto an 80 minute CD?

    Any help is much appreciated!

Had the same problem just this morning.

I tried to copy 889meg xVCD file using the very latest Nero with all the option's in it set to overburn onto a 99 min cd.

Now there should have been no problem, but NERO just spat the cd out saying that there was not enough room.

Now you may be asking what has this got to do with your problem, well my fellow forum user here's the solution to your little problem.

Delete NERO completely of you PC and never use it again, go download the latest version of VCDImager used that to convert your mpeg into CUE/BIN files then download the best overburning programme there is, CDRwin and used that to burn the CUE/BIN files.

No more frigging Nero can't do that or Nero can't do this problems.

Believe me your life will be much better, (WELL MINE IS ANYWAY )

    Hope that helps ya man.

  3. Thanks for the advice

I tried using VCDImager (with the GUI), but unfortunately it autopads my MPEG to around 914MB, meaning I can't fit it on an 80min CD. I've tried using earlier versions of VCDImager without the autopadding, but they keep crashing..

I'm still at a loss what to do really..

Hmmmm, it's strange that VCDImager is padding that mpeg of yours out to 914meg.

Like i said in my last reply, i converted that 889meg xVCD
this morning and when it was done the size of the BIN came out at 902meg.

It added and extra 13meg to the mpeg but i was able to burn it to CD using CDRwin and a 99min cd.

The options i choosed where VIDEO 2.0, clicked on the add button to add the MPEG and then just hit go.

Although my Plextor does not support burning to 99minutes i was still able to copy it to cd because when i loaded the mpeg up in CDRwin it said that it was 89.07secs, and my Plextor will burn out to 89.57.00.

You said that you have tried VCDImager, but did you try loading the cue sheet and seeing what time comes up in the CDRwin cuesheet window, just a tought.

Another thing that it could be is that the resolution of the mpeg is too big.

Mine was set at 352x240 25fps audio at 128kbps CBR 1150
nearly a bulk standard PAL VCD except for the AUDIO AND THE RESOLUTION.
