  1. yesterday I installed dvd2svcd on one of my computers which is running windows XP. It worked fine. Today I tried to install it on my computer which is running windows ME, and it didnt work. When is encodes the movie all it does is make big blocks of color. The sound comes out fine, but the video just doesnt work. I set everything up as I did on the other computer, but for some reason it just doesnt work. I'm about to rip my hair out, I've uninstalled dvd2svcd, and tmpg over and over thinking maybe that would help, but its done nothing, always the same result. One other thing is that when I run aspi check, it says windows 95 in the top right corner, and says "aspi is properly installed and fully operational, one host adaptor has been detected." I dont know if that has anything to do with whats happening. Any help would be great because otherwise I'll probably end up bald by the end of the night.

  4. WinMe is about as big of a joke as Nero. As a matter of fact, that would be very difficult for me to honestly answer what the bigger joke is. I'd have to sleep on it. Getting rid of WinMe isn't an option huh? Use it for a while and we'll see how keeping it won't be an option.

  5. Perhaps this issue is not related to WinME but your video codecs?
I have an old Dell 350MHZ w/Win2K and everything installed fine, & processed fine but it took almost a week for one 2HR DVD to encode!!
So I moved it all over to my Dell 933MHZ box also w/Win2K and it ripped ok, transcoded the audio, but when it got to the Tmpeg portion with encoding the video, all I got were strange blocky colors appearing during encoding process. Im thinking perhaps the newer PC cant view the VOB files (needing an Mpeg-2 codec), or perhaps I forgot to install WinASPI (which im not sure should have any affect) but if/when I get this to work I will post my resolution!!
