Are there any good quality FREE DV codecs out there? The Canopus and Mainconcept don't support DV export. I am after a codec for VDub (and TMPGenc) that will let me export a file back out as a DV format avi.[/b]

I have not seen any free DV codecs. You can get a free DV decoder, but not encoder. However, the DV codec can be bought for less than $50. (Mainconcept "super-fast" DV codec)

Ah well, time to shell out some more hard earned cash!
Thanks anyway. -
Although I have a hardware DV-Capture-card, I also have software DV-codecs.
I don't know how the use of this codec exactly is, but I can export using VDub in DV. Possible it's the same method as with other codecs.
Though I don't know whether it would work on a system without a hardware DV-codec adapter. It might be that the calculations needed to create a DV-source requires hardware designed for it.
