I have a vast collection of .AVI movies and .Mpegs that i have ripped over the years b4 i got my DVD burner. Now i have a sony dru-500a DVD burner. And i was wondering if i would be able to burn mpegs to the dvd-r disk and have them be able to play on my stand alone dvd player hooked to my tv as a regular movie? please help thanks!

You have to author the MPEG-2 files to work in a standalone player. You can use MyDVD, IfoEdit, Ulead DWS or simaler program to author the DVD. <------ Look to your left under how to author.
