If you're talking about one of the original, factory-pressed "Compact Disc Videos" (and no, "VideoCD" and "CD Video" are not the same thing) which they used to make back in the 80's, then yes, they will play in a laserdisc player (provided yours is the kind with tray depressions for 5" and 3" CD's as well as 12" and 8" laserdiscs). They're basically just LD video in a smaller form factor; typically, they held about 20 minutes of audio and a five-minute video clip, usually the MTV video of one of the songs on the disc. CD-Videos were always factory-pressed (burning your own is impossible, since LD uses a totally different land/pit encoding scheme than CDs do, and no CD-R(W) drive I know of can even read the video portion of those discs, much less burn them), and all the ones I've ever seen had a golden-colored reflective layer to differentiate them from standard audio CD's.

If you're talking about a VideoCD, such as the ones we talk about on this site (MPEG-1 on a standard data CD-R(W) or pressed CD-ROM), then the odds are pretty good that it won't work. (Some late-vintage LD players can, but most of them don't, either because they pre-date the White Book standard or because the manufacturer didn't think it was worth adding a then-pricey MPEG decoder chip to the unit). All you can do is try it and see.
