    I did the hack and changed the region to 0. Just to confirm, if I was to, say, purchase a region 2 DVD off of Amazon.co.uk, it would play fine on this player,correct?

    ask at nerd-out.com and you should get more answers, or someone may have already answered it there. i have the ch-500, but from what i've heard on the 402 is that yes it'll play your region 2 dvd or any other region dvd, but it the dvd is anamorphic (16x9) pal, it won't display the aspect ration correctly, it'll look full screen instead of widescreen. i could be wrong but i remember people saying that about the 402. the 500 will display it the correct way. but look over at nerd-out
