AC 2000 Missing MSVCRT.DLL: Wont Load
Since installing a WINNTV PVR video capture card, I can’t get AutoCad 2000 to start. I get an error message: “The MSVCIRT.DLL fill is linked to missing export MSVCRT.DLL”
I have reinstalled AutoCad twice, fully removed, and reinstalled again twice, the last install with every feature checked, to no avail.
I have a MSVCRT.DLL (Product Version 6.00.8797.0) in C: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM, and a MSCRT.DLL (Product Version 6.00.8337.0) in a \WINDVD folder, but no place else.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Paul Simmel

loveo,
ADDITIONAL INFO TO BE ADDED TO ORIGINAL POST:
Since installing the Hauppauge PVR PCI video capture card, I can’t get AutoCad 2000 to start. I get an error message when attempting to launch the program: “The MSVCIRT.DLL fill is linked to missing export MSVCRT.DLL”
Also, QuickTime will not load an .AVI file – gives error message that a needed device is missing and not on the QuickTime server, and then I LOOSE all audio from WINTV2000 (or any other capture program) and am forced to reinstall all WINTV drivers to restore audio.
Since these two problems did not occur prior to the Hauppauge installation, I am assuming the issue is Hauppauge related.
I have reinstalled AutoCad twice, fully removed, and reinstalled again twice, the last install with every feature checked, to no avail.
I have gone to the Hauppauge Website, and downloaded the latest drivers, including the beta drivers, installed and reinstalled them.
Problem still remains.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Paul Simmel

That file is not missing. It's just a file version problem.

Make sure that there are no copies of MSVCIRT.DLL and MSVCRT.DLL on
your system other than in the \Windows\System folder. Download these
files from here:
ftp://ftp.sbuilders.com/pub/products/AppLocalize/allfiles/MSVCIRT.DLL
ftp://ftp.natinst.com/support/mstudio/eval_cd/MSVCRT.DLL
Exit Windows to MS-DOS mode and change to the \Windows\System directory.
Rename the two existing files to *.bak and copy the downloaded files
into that directory. Although it might work when replacing MSVCIRT.DLL
only, I recommend to replace *both* files in this particular case.
