Pioneer 454 - plays region 1 and 2 in colour when connected directly via SCART, but when using the LINE 3 SCART on my Sony VCR, region 1 discs come through in black and white - region 2 are fine.
Any got any ideas or suggestions as to how to fix this?

That is because your VCR cannot handle an NTSC signal input. In the UK most VCR's will play both NTSC and PAL tapes but can only record from a PAL signal. If you input an NTSC signal you will have the problem of a black and white picture. You may also have problems with macrovision (although if your region 1 discs are ok, this would appear not to be the case). Try a PAL-NTSC converter this should solve the problem, some will also remove macrovision protection.

So can I get a SCART input/output NTSC/PAL convertor of decent quality in the UK?
Help most appreciated. -
These unit generaly don't use scart connectors, so you would need a scart-rca converter.
