  1. I only get a d2v file while running DVD2AVI. I do not get the WAV file...? what would cause this? Is there better software for creating these files or burning from DVD to VCD?

    Hi there,

open DVD2AVi and check under "audio" which track has been selected. If you want the english language extracted, then try track 1.

The dvd2avi audio decoder never failed for me. You may try vob2audio, but I believe the problem is the wrong audio track. If you use smartripper, open the INFO.txt file to see, which track is which language and format. DVD2AVI does not decode DTS tracks.

Probably not, because DVD2SVCD uses DVD2AVI too. You must know, which audio track you have to select.
Generally DVD2SVCD is a good choise, of course.

  8. In dvd2svcd you have to pick an audio track anyway. dvd2avi can't rip a dts track. Sometimes that is what is autoselected. Just change the track, and end of problem. Dvd2svcd pisses me off because it makes your pc useless for hours at a time.

  9. DVD2SVCD makes you PC no more or less usless than doing all the processes by hand, but with the added bonus you can walk about and the next process will start on its own. My concerns with DVD2SVCD conern:

    no batch encoding
    CCE issues
Autoselect option for DVD2AVI (but then, thats an Anime DVD thing).
