    what is the best converter for me turning a avi to mpeg. and if the file is to long can i split the file and then convert them both or convert and then split.

    I use TMPGenc have a look round the forum you will find alot of diffrent programs but this one i think is the best.

    I would recomend VDub and TMPGEnc.

    Sorry i miss read your post..... Still using TMPGenc yes you will have to split the movie in half or at whatever point that will fit onto the size of your cd-r. Full instructions on what to do are on the web.
