ATI MP2 Files

Does anyone knows if the MP2 output files from ATI 128 AIW pro can be played with MMC 7.1 or MS MP7.1 when using the SVCD settings to capture the file?

My settings are
Card: ATI AIW 128 pro
PC: AMD Duron with 1.2GB memory
Format: MPG2
Dimension: 480x480
Bit Rate: 2.3 VBR
Motion Etimation: ~50%

I am using all the settings recommend for SVCD but when I try to test the file.mp2 using the "File Player" my Win2k just freezes. I try using MS Media Player 7.1 and it just give me an error complaining could not find correct Codec.

I re-installed drivers, MMC 7.1 and SP2 for Win2k, in that order, and keep getting the same problem. Is the MP2 file playable using MMC7.1 or only DVD players (wiht VCD capabilities) can play that file. Do you have any Ideas?

did you install the dvd upgrade.

Rename the MP2 extention to MPG. That will solve the problem on a Manual basis.

I finnaly got to install the DVD player applet and everything works just fine. Thanks everyone for the advice.

I hope this will help someone else as it helped me.
