Have a really annoying problem i have burnt 7 different XVCDs so far with different settings trying to get this problem fixed. I am taking a DivX expisode it is about 23 min long. I encode it at the highest bitrate so it can fit on one cd (4000kbit/s) but i have also tried lower numbers and the result is the same. I can load the normal VideoCD (NTSC).mcf and the unlock.mcf fine, and i encode it fine and burn it fine with no error msg anywhere. However if i try to play the .mpg file on the computer i can push play and it works perfectly fine. BUT if i move the cursor to fast forward or rewind it and push play the screen stays black and nothing happens no matter how long i wait. When i burn it to a CD and try to play it on my DVD player it will play it just fine from the beginning, i can pause it and play it in slow motion, but if i seek forward or backwards even for one second and push play the video will resume but i have no sound whatsoever. Is there some setting i need to enable perhaps for some compatibility? i am really lost and am about to give up hope.

One possible reason why no one is answering is because you are bumping your posts... It is considered rude when you have only waited a few hours...
In any case, the problem with non-standard discs is that they are less likely to play properly. It sounds like this may be the situation in your case...
Try making a standard VCD and see if the problem persists. If so, there is probably something with your method that is causing funny results.
Best of luck.
