I downlaoded virtual dub software. Does anybody know step by step how to create vcd/svcd using virtual-dub software. I know how to, using TMPGE software but i keep getting narrow faces for some some movie files when converting avi to mpge using TMPGE software. So i want to give it a virtual dub a shot.
I am just curious also, is there any other programs like tmpge that converts avi, divx, etc files into mpeg file? if so where can i get it (Uhuummm) for free?
Thanks guys and keep up the good work.

Harar:
From what you said "I know how to, using TMPGE software but i keep getting narrow faces for some some movie files when converting avi to mpge using TMPGE software. So i want to give it a virtual dub a shot. " it sounds like you may may be under the mistaken impression that VirtualDub includes an encoder. It does not. VirtualDub is primarily a capture (to AVI) program, that also has some good editing tools. The output is still avi format. This avi output still needs to be input into some sort of avi to mpeg encoder to produce a VCD or SVCD compatable mpeg file. Once you have a compatable mpeg file then it needs to be written to VCD or SVCD format with the compatable file structure. Many people use Nero or VCDEasy for this. Nero can also be used to encode, but I advise against it. Nero's encoder produces relatively poor quality compared to the quality that can be had using the correct settings and an external encoder like TMPGenc.
