  1. I have a DVD-rip with an AVI extension (probably encoded with DivX) that plays perfectly in Windows Media Player. After converting it into an MPG (for NTSC VCD) with TMPG, it plays only with audio, but no video at all -- the screen is black! I have all the latest codec and version of TMPG. DirectShow has been raised to 2. Basically I have tried everything in the Problems section of TMPG's page. Any further suggestion?

Thanks for being here, by the way -- your folks are indispensible!

  4. Hmm, wish I was as lucky as weeyoo and abbeyrd73069... and thanks for the tips.

Tried it first with +2, then +4, in both cases the highest number in all the settings. Still the same problem: audio only but no video...

I tried the conversion with EO-Vido as well. The really strange thing is that it plays just fine with EO-Video, but the conversion turned out just the same as TMPG (which really sucks, since, unlike TMPG, EO-Video does not show a preview during conversion, so I did not find out after the problem until 36 hours of work later!).

Okay, what should I do next???

    HELP!
