Phillips DV612S SVCD Probelm

Hi all

My son has a Phillips 612S DVD player which I tried, some months ago, to multi region.

I used the DVD955 remote hack (On my Palm M515) and entered a code, this seemed to work but then he ahd problems playing certain region 2 DVD's so I used another code (or two) to get them working.

My problem is that when he tries to play a SVCD it comes up in grey, it plays okay and the sound is okay but the picture is wobbly and in grey/ black and white.

I have looked on this (excellent) site and there does not appear to be a multi region hack for this DVD player? Can anyone tell me how to get the thing to play SVCD's and region 2 only (not that bothered about Multi region really).

It did play SVCD before I messed with it and the manual does say that it is compatible?

Okay

So now I know that it is the TV, the svcd's in question are NTSC and it appears the TV isnt auto switching or indeed, does not have an NTSC mode.

Can I convert the film to PAL?
