Alright, well I think I have sort of a weird problem, and it might be my wiring setup that is to blame:
I burned a Data CD with a 500mb MPEG-1 on it, and my DVD player recognized it as an mp3, brought up my mp3 screen, and refused to play anything...I then went into Nero and burned it as a VCD, and went back to my DVD player, and it started playing (it recognized the length). Now on the S-Video input I had a picture that was basically garbled to hell, but with sound. And on my Y-CBR input I had a perfect picture with 0 sound. What the hell just happened? Then I burned a different movie using .bin and .cue and also using Nero, and I popped that into my DVD player and it played perfectly with sound and everything on both the S-Video and the Y-CBR. So I do not think it is my DVD player that is to blame, it is either the wiring, the way I put the data onto the CD, or the actual file itself...
Does anyone have a recommended solution for this or else something that I can try? And why is that .bin/.cue method working and making a VCD through Nero not working?
Thanks :)

If you read what I posted...thats exactly what I did the second time, make a VCD through Nero. It still didn't work.
I just tried converting it to a .bin/.cue and then burning it through Nero to see if that would help any, but it didn't.
I'm thinking it could be a frame rate problem....? The frame rate is 25 fps on my mpeg, is that compatible with many DVD players? -
Well if you're just going to spam the boards with stuff that doesn't make sense, why are you calling me a noob?
Anyway, it was a frame rate problem...I guess my DVD player doesn't like 25fps; 29.97 works perfectly. Wahoo. -
Sometimes it is that simple...
PAL / NTSC compatibility problems are difficult to identify when they rear themselves in less than common testing situations... I'm glad you've worked out your problem.
