beginner needs help

I am a absolute beginner, en when i reads the forum, i dont know what to do

can some one explain me simpel how to copy a dvd

what programs i need

for example i wil copy lord of the rings what should i do

start by reading the newbie guides on this site...

the programs i use to back up my originals is in this order

smart ripper-rips movie
dvdx-converts
vcd gui-creates a cuefile to place in cdrwin
cdrwin -burns movies to vcd

there is no 1 method, personaly I use DVD2DVD-R and ifoedit. But i ll give a try to Redvd also today.
